Since I last blogged our family has:
1.  Attended our church Christmas Dinner and children's program where Maddie and Ty both played accompaniment on piano for the kids.  This was a first for both of them.

2.  Lived through an F2 tornado that hit our county on Thursday evening.  We were blessed to only lose power for 24 hours and sustain no damage at all.

3.  Gone to Atlanta overnight for our annual McElroy Family Christmas Celebration.

4.  Attended Buckhead Church with my SIL and BIL where we heard the gospel message preached and rocked out to the loudest praise music EVER.

5.  Attended our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.  Maddie was an acolyte, Wes took part in the processional, Tyler read Scripture, I sang a solo and Tom preached!  Yikes, all of us (but Tom) are looking forward to just soaking in the church service tomorrow at 10 am.

We are so excited about celebrating Jesus' birth.  A birthday cake is all ready and the day is just around the corner.  We pray that however you celebrate this event you remember this:  Light has come into the darkness.  All our sins, all our weaknesses, all our insecurities don't matter to our Father God.  Once we see Jesus as the answer and accept the gift of his death for ours, we are seen as perfect in our God's sight. There will never again be a time when we are isolated, alone, unforgiven. We now have one who is crazy in love with us and passionate on our behalf, who is always there FOR us each moment of the day. That's good news.  That's life and light. That's Jesus. And that's what we celebrate.

Merry Christmas from the McElroys. Through Christ may you experience "exceedingly more than you can ask or imagine." (see Ephesians 3).

Wednesday's workout:  Firm Zero in 10 Legs, Buns and Arms; 10 MS Yoga for Beginners

Thursday's workout:  Ellen Barrett Grace and Gusto (standing pilates blend)

Nothing since then due to having no electricity, traveling out of town, and Christmas.  I'm looking forward to hitting it HARD on Monday.

Merry Christmas from my blog.  Decided to mix things up a bit and use some holiday color.

Today was rainy but we managed to get Tucker out for a quick walk. The kids also went out and jumped on the pogo stick in between showers. And, we used the time to firm up the chore list over the next few days and begin working on some cleaning.  Tomorrow we're planning a trip to the library and then on to the store~gotta get those items to start baking!

Tyler found a few things to record on The History Channel show called Modern Marvels. They were on the history of toys (all boy toys), the history of Christmas technology (trees, lights, etc), and then history of candy making. So I let them watch a show today. Gotta be better than cartoons since they're learning something, right?

Today's workout:  Firm Ultimate Fat Burning Workout(intervals of cardio, cardio with light weights, and kickboxing) and Yoga Journal Yoga For Well Being Restful Sleep Practice. Doesn't put my to sleep but has lovely hip and shoulder openers, twists, and forward bends.

I ended up taking a fruit tray to our breakfast at church yesterday because I thought there would be tons of high fat and goo available.  There was.  I did think the kids would give me grief but they loved it!  You never know, do you?

The youth party was a blast. We took the kids bowling and then to Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen. They also had a Dirty Santa Gift Exchange with gag gifts.  Some of the "popular" items were a squeaky dog toy and hot sauce!!

Today the kids spent a lot of time with friends in the neighborhood and had a great time. The temps were in the 60s so they could get out and have a blast.  It's supposed to rain possibly through Sunday so I'm glad they got out of the house.  Tomorrow we'll start making a list of cleaning to do this week, start some baking, wrapping, etc.  Christmas is definitely in the air!

Today's workout:  Erin O'Brien's Strong Body, Fit Body.  I did this weight circuit workout every Monday for months in the spring and summer and it was good to get back to it.

Saturday, December 17, 2011

I guess I'm being festive with my choice of colors lately.  Friday I overslept and then went to breakfast and to run an errand with Tom.  Thankfully, the kids got up on their own and got some work done.  When I got home we finished our work for the semester, yippee!  That night Tom and I had a fun Sunday School party to attend.

Today Wes and his buddy Josh sold tickets for the NAIA Championship Football game.  Tom got a ticket too and they watched the game.  It's becoming a fun tradition for them.

Tomorrow it's caroling for the shut-ins using a Trolley and then the Youth Christmas party.  Oh, an a Sunday School breakfast at 9am before Sunday School at 10.  Whew, looking forward to having a down day on Monday!

Friday's workout:  Firm Bootcamp Maximum Calorie Burn (intervals of cardio and weights)

Today's workout:  Ramping Creative Choreography; AM Yoga for Your Week, Forward Bends; 1 Mile Dog walk

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Fun day here.  I got up early, got my workout and shower in and then it was off to breakfast with the kiddos and Tom. I decided to eat breakfast here because we had coupons to McDonalds and I don't love their breakfast food.  Since I'm trying to watch my cholesterol if I don't love it I'm not eating it.  (P.S.  Not THE most healthy breakfast for me but it sure was tasty~I ate a small piece of homemade banana bread with natural peanut butter and a small piece of fruit).

After Tom left us to go to work, I pulled out my Bible study materials and gave the kids their writing assignments. They had to fill once side of the page with writing without stopping~and didn't have to share it with anyone. It's just a good way to get creative juices flowing. Then we did two more "normal" type activities:  Using Christmas as an acronym and seeing how many words they could spell from Christmas. Even my teens have fun competing, er, working together on this one!

When we got home we had Bible Study and read from A Christmas Carol, which we'll finish tomorrow. Right now Tyler and I are getting ready to sort some clothing out in his room~yep, I can't wait.  Oh~and I ran out about an hour ago and finished stocking purchases for the kids, making my Christmas purchases officially done. (I bet not.  It seems like there's always something that comes up!)

Tomorrow is our last day of school before the break and Tom and I have a Christmas Party with a Sunday School class to attend. We're looking forward to sleeping in, making cookies, wrapping gifts, and hanging out next week.

Today's workout:  Joanie Greggins' Holiday Workout; AMYFYW, Forward Bends (with Tucker licking my face in savasana, or relaxation pose)!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Typical busy Wednesday here.  We had piano and church and our run to the bread store.  We're trying to get some last minute math and other work done while still having some fun too!  So, we're reading Dickens' A Christmas Carol together as part of school and taking extra time to make sure we don't skip Bible study in the midst of the busyness.

Tomorrow we're going to have our end of semester breakfast out, read together, tie up loose ends in books, and catch up on chores.  We're also going to try to squeeze in a visit to the library.  I pray your final preparations before Christmas are filled with Christ himself.

Today's workout:  LBN Strength; Super Model Series Floor Work for hips and glutes; 1 mile dog walk.

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Wow, it's sunny and 60ish degrees out today. Tucker and I enjoyed a longer walk and a nice bit of play time (read Tucker chewing a limb, mom watching) in the front yard this afternoon.  This has been the most up and down fall weather in the last month I've seen in a while.

The kids and I are enjoying a bit more "fun" work this week. Yesterday we watched a documentary on The History of Christmas and today we read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and studied the history of Clement C. Moore. They kids all wrote a story or poem or drew something about the poem to share at dinner tonight~can't wait to read/see what they came up with. We're also getting our math done and doing fun writing this week.

Last night Tyler had a Scout Christmas party and Wes had a board of review for his next Scout Level, Star.  He passed with flying colors and we're very proud.  One more level to achieve in the next 6 months (Life) and then he can begin working on his Eagle Project.

Looking forward to a night at home to hang out, spend more time with our Advent Wreath and devotions, and just share some laughter.

Yesterday's Workout:  Slim Series Shape it Up(high rep/low weight workout)

Today's workout:  Kickboxing CardioPower and a dog walk.

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Random, goofy picture of the day.  We went to the mall as a family yesterday to finish shopping for Angel Tree gifts.  Tyler saw these small, pink, 1 pound dumbbells in Hibbet Sports and said, "I need these so I can get buff, ha ha."  I talked him into acting like he was struggling to lift one, snapped a picture on my cell phone, and this is the result.  Yes, he truly is a ham.

I also got my hair cut yesterday and walked the dog. I got a short workout in late in the day as we'd been busy and there was no time for anything else.

Today was church, a run to Kmart for final Angel Tree gifts and tonight is a dinner. The funny story (not for Wes) is that during Sunday School someone flushed one of the toilets in the women's bathroom over the youth room and water began POURING through the ceiling of the youth room where the kids were having Sunday School.  Wes and his buddy Josh ended up missing the entire Christmas Cantata at the 11 am service to mop the floor of the youth room and bathroom once the stall of the bad toilet was closed.  He and his buddy Josh decided they never wanted to be plumbers!

No matter how you are serving God~gloriously out front or mopping up messes no one knows about, do it with all  your heart.  I'm grateful today for two 15 and 16 year old kids who lived out that gospel message before my eyes.

Saturday's workout: Dog Walk; Floor Work, Abs, Stretch from Super Model Series workout.  Who KNEW doing work for your glutes and hips lying down and on all 4s could burn so much!

Friday, December 9, 2011

Happy Friday to everyone.  First a random picture of Penny and me. I realized I post a lot more pictures of Tucker and this is a cute one of the ole' gal.

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to post.  I was getting ready for a Christmas Dinner with the United Methodist Pastors and Spouses in our district when Tom called and said he'd run out of gas.  In 5:00 traffic. In the busiest part of Rome.  So, Wes and I got our 5 gallon gas can, filled it up with 3 gallons at the station, and then went to find Tom.  (It's partly not his fault~it's a new car to him from my father in law that he got this summer and he's not familiar with the lights and gauges, lol). He and Ty had gone to get haircuts so Ty was having the time of his life~not.  Actually he was taking it all in stride.

We then got some food for the kids and sped off to dinner, only to get home about 9:30. Nice dinner but it made for a long day.

Today after school and a workout/shower I went grocery shopping and made a trip to Walmart. Right now I'm waiting for Tom to walk Tucker with me so we can start dinner.

In the midst of all of that, we've done some lovely writing assignments, grammar lessons, and math work. Today the kids played on the website:http://www.math-play.com/  It's a fabulous site and has games for kids all the way through high school.  Wes did some Millionaire math on the order of operations and a Basketball game regarding solving one variable equations. He said the hardest part was figuring out how to make the basket not solve the equations.

Tonight I'm looking forward to being inside and watching a Christmas movie as a family. It's the little things like that that just make the season so meaningful for me.

Yesterday's workout:  Exercise TV Slimdown Fast:  2 20 minute circuit workouts (weights and cardio) with Jessica Smith and Cindy Whitmarsh; 1.5 mile walk with Tucker, 1/2 mile with Penny.

Today's workout:  LBN Metabolic Cardio Intervals; Firm Get Chisel'd Kick it Into Gear Quick 15 minute cardio blast; LBN Yoga stretch. 1 mile dog walk with Tucker starting now!!

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Tom surprised me with an email early this morning asking me to go run a couple of errands with him and have lunch together.  Guess where we went?  Yep, a family favorite Chick-Fil-A.  The kids were not happy to be left behind but we had a great time talking together.

Tom got up early this morning as usual~about 5:30.  By 5:50 I realized I wasn't going back to sleep so I got up, let the dogs go outside, and did my workout.  By 9am I'd done my workout, fed and walked the dogs a bit, had breakfast and my  shower, and gone to Panera Bread for coffee and Bible Study while the kids got showers.  That makes for a great day~too bad I'm not more of a morning person who can do that daily.

Wes and I spent time going through Painless Algebra again with Tyler joining in for part of the lessons. He feels so proud of himself that he can do part of Wes'  lessons with us.  We also did some writing, grammar, and watched an episode of The Universe.

The temperature has dropped dramatically and I'm not looking forward to leaving my warm house to go to church but love the fellowship so much~and not having to cook!

I've been studying Ephesians 2 and was reading today about how Jesus reconciled Jews and Gentiles, making us into 1 people together. Right in the middle of this I witnessed the most tender scene.  An African-American woman in Panera was talking to a manager there, who is Caucasian.  He was holding her beautiful baby who was touching his face.  He tenderly kissed the baby on the cheek and handed him back to his momma, saying he was glad to see her back in the store.  I thought, "that's what it's like, Father. Neither Jew, nor Greek, male, nor female, slave, nor free, nor color should separate your people."  It reminded me that I can't WAIT to see people of all colors, languages, and nationalities in heaven together, praising the Father and feasting along side each other at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.  I will be eternally grateful for seeing this serendipity of life without barriers and boundaries.

And with that, I pray that many serendipities come your way this day.

Today's Workout:  10 MS Belly, Butt, and Thigh Blasters:  Strong and Slim Thighs; Belly Flab Blaster; Joanie Greggin's Holiday Workout

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

We were busy over the weekend watching football and basketball, lol.  Wes also had a camp out on Saturday night and the kids went shopping with the youth to buy for some Angel Tree kids that our church is supporting through Christmas gifts.

Yesterday and today Wes and I've been working through Painless Algebra  (http://www.amazon.com/Painless-Algebra-Barrons-Lynette-Ph-D/dp/0764147153/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323216826&sr=1-1). We are in love with the entire series~grammar, spelling, fractions, etc.  They just explain things so well. Wes is already having things click for him that he'd been wondering about.  I love the series he uses for Algebra but some of the explanations are a bit lacking so this is a great resource.

We're also all using Daily Spark Grammar and Spelling each day.(http://www.amazon.com/Spelling-Grammar-Daily-Spark-Easy-/dp/1411402251/ref=sr_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323216949&sr=1-8).  Again, we love these books.  They do some incredibly funny things to teach spelling and grammar.  For example, we had to fix sentences so they would read correctly. The first one we had to fix read:  "The actor was a tall man with a red moustache weighing 200 pounds."  Too funny.

Yesterday I didn't exercise because Sunday night I re-aggravated a pulled muscle over my left shoulder blade.  It felt AWFUL. It's better today so I did some lower body work. It's bugging me a bit more now because I've been sitting at the computer more.  So, I'm off to get ready for bed and sit in my comfy chair!

Saturday's Workout:  Joanie Greggin's Holiday Workout (cardio); AMYFYW, Back Bends; Dog Walk

Today's workout:  10 Minute Solution Ultimate Bootcamp:  Ultimate Lower Body; 10 Minute Solution Belly, Butt and Thigh Blaster:  Lower Body Makeover and Better Booty Camp; Inner Thighs on my own and yoga hip and thigh openers on my own; very short dog walk between rain showers.

Friday, December 2, 2011

Today was just so nice.  I got up early and walked Penny a bit.  She absolutely loves the cold weather, silly old girl.  I got my Bible reading and studying done and spent a bit of time talking with a friend.  I got my workout in early while the kids were doing some regular work and then spent time with Wes going over Algebra and helping Tyler with multiplication.  They're definitely getting it and I'm seeing some really good improvement!

The kids did some cleaning in the afternoon and I scooted off for some "mom time."  I meandered around Big Lots without spending impulsively which is tough to do.  I bought only what I went there to get~they have the most FABULOUS, inexpensive, healthy almond, cranberry, raisin, and dark chocolate trail mix I've ever found.  No sodium, 150 calories per 1/4 cup and 5 fat grams.  I eat 1/4 cup plus half a piece of fruit most afternoons for a snack.

Okay, I'm sure that wasn't interesting, lol.  Then I went by my favorite Thrift store and wandered and found nothing I needed.  Finally I brought home the kids' Friday treat:  Little Caesar's $5 pizza.

About 4:30 Tucker and I went for a walk for a mile. It was cooling off a bit, people were out in their yards, and Tucker had a ball seeing all the people and pups.  I am really starting to enjoy my walks with him lately~it's just such a great way to unwind and relax.

Wes has a scout trip overnight tomorrow and Maddie and I will probably go do something~she's been asking to spend a bit of time with momma.  And that is something to feel GREAT about.  Thank you Father that my children still enjoy being around their Dad and me.  You are so good to me.

Today's workout:  The Firm Pump, Jump, and Jab (intervals of compound weights and cardio); YZ Yoga for a Strong and Healthy Back, practice 2; Doggie Walk.

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Today Wes and Tom were interviewed at 12:30 for an article in our local paper about Tom being a Georgia Bulldogs fan and Wes being an LSU Tigers fan. This is because those are the two teams playing in the SEC Championship this Saturday. As the ladies on one of my exercise check ins would say, "Only in the south."

We started a new Bible study for December and it's on the Church and Tabernacle.  Should be interesting and not the same ole' thing.  We also got our advent candle set out and did some readings at the dinner table. That is one of our traditions that I absolutely love.

We're trying to decide what to do about our Christmas tree this year. Having a 10 month old, 45ish pound puppy has made things interesting. That pup wags his whole backside like nobody's business and I'd hate to see the entire tree go flying across the room!!

After school and chores were done, Wes and I went grocery shopping.  Wes volunteered to o with me to make it easier.  We had a good time, especially laughing at Old Yeller Dog food. Wes is convinced feeding it to the dogs would result in them getting rabies and having to be put down. ;)

Today's workout:  Martial Fusion Cardio Blast (45 minutes of kickboxing) 10 Minute Solution Yoga for Beginners, Stress Relief Segment (which is a wonderful slow stretch).

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Busy day here. Wednesdays are the days Maddie and Tyler have piano and we have dinner and Hanging of the Greens tonight.  Maddie also had to babysit for 30 minutes before piano and again tonight.  So we don't generally do a whole lot of creative things these days~it's enough to get our work done.

Tucker tried to pick a fight with Penny several times this morning and Tyler wanted to intervene.  I told him people get pet bites that way.  Penny, although 13.5 years old, can more than hold her own.  Tucker hasn't picked on Penny since he had that "vet visit", lol and we're pretty sure he was tired of being cooped up. He hadn't had a walk since Saturday with all the rain, etc.  So he got a mile walk mid morning with Wes and a mile walk about half an hour ago with me.  Plus some play time in the back yard.  He seems much more content now, LOL.

Today's workout:  The Firm Target Toning Zero in 10:  Lean Legs, Upper Body, Absolute Core; AMYFYW, Forward Bends; Tucker Walk

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Gotta say the kids and I were very disappointed we didn't get the snow flurries they predicted today. The ground is too warm for anything to accumulate so we were supposed to have flurries that melted when they hit the ground.  Perfect and festive for this time of year, right?  Well, it rained a bit this morning and then nothing.  Ah, well, you can't win them all.  At least today's high of 39 should be a thing of the past soon (mid to upper 50s coming our way) and the sun is expected to appear tomorrow.

I find the older I get the more fascinated I am with the earth and it's weather.  I love the cyclical nature of it all, the rhythm and yet unexpected events.  The cold snaps, warm spells, etc.  It just reminds me that the Father takes such care through his created earth to remind us that he is there.  Nothing lasts forever and even though seasons exist in my life God is with me and I will get through the struggles and the sun will shine again.

Today Wes and I worked on some tough Algebra; Tyler and I worked together on writing some sentences with compound predicates; and we talked about the elements of writing a book report.  I feel like I did more "hands on" work today than on some days and think the kids enjoyed the extra attention and help.

We're eating earlier tonight since Tyler and Tom are participating in the Scout Float for the Annual Rome Christmas Parade.  Brrr, to cold for my blood but the "boys" always have fun at this event.

Today's workout:  The Firm Cardio Overdrive; AM Yoga for Your Week, Hip Openers.  I'm looking forward to a nice longer walk with Tucker tomorrow, yippee!!

Monday, November 28, 2011

Saturday was much more laid back for the kids and I. Tom went to a funeral of the parent of a childhood friend.  The kids and I walked Tucker, read some books, watched some football, etc.  Sunday we had church and it was so nice.  Advent has started and our family got to light the advent wreath and do the readings together.

Yesterday and today it POURED.  It sure made it hard to get back into the whole "get up early and get at it mode."  But, eventually, we settled into doing regular worksheets, math, etc.  But, the most fun thing we did was during our Bible study moment.  We read Psalm 133 which begins in verse 1 with "How good it is when God's people live together in peace."  Verse 2 begins, "It is like..." and then gives a picture image of oil being poured on Aaron's head, dew falling down Mount Hermon.  I've asked each one of the kids to write THEIR version of the psalm.  What kind of word picture or image comes to mind for them of what it means for God's people to live in peace. They're going to share them tonight at dinner.
So, the thought I leave you today is this:  what images come to your mind of God's people living together in peace?   And how can I, how can you, be a part of making that a reality in our little corner of the world~maybe even beyond?

Tonight Tyler and Wes have scouts so we've got to get out for that.  After that it's "hunkerin' down" to keep warm while the temps drop. Yes, I've been in Georgia long enough to pick up their phrases~although that particular phrase is usually used during a Georgia football games and goes like this:  "hunker down Dawgs."

Saturday's workout:  Firm Cardio Gloves Workout; 2 sections from 10 MS Kickboxing; Yoga Zone Yoga for a Healthy Back, practice 2; 1 mile dog walk.

Today's workout:  LBN Strength workout; YZ Yoga for a Healthy Back, practice 1.

The Moral of the Story Is...

Yesterday Tom noticed something sticky behind the refrigerator.  He moved it out to see what it was and decided to clean the area behind the fridge.  Lo and behold something burst on the line leading to the cold water for the sink and fridge itself.  He wasn't able to get it fixed so we turned the cold water off, used paper plates, and cleaned only the pots and pans after dinner. Today Tom and Tyler spent time trying to repair the problem and finally called our resident expert for the church, Mr. Tommy Jones, who told them exactly what to get. It was fixed very quickly then. Moral of the story is:  sometimes instead of spinning my wheels I need to ask the Father, my expert extraordinaire, for help!

Wes and Tom continued their Black Friday shopping tradition for the 5th year in a row today and saw a fight break out between two women in Kmart.  One woman was escorted out while threatening to finish what they'd started in the parking lot.  Moral of the story:  No thing created is worth that much passion!  The only way to channel the passion we have within positively is to lavish it upon our Creator and have him lavish us with his love so we can pour it out in his creatures.

Our Thanksgiving was nice with MIL/FIL and SIL/BIL being here.  I enjoyed fully being in my home and not having to drive anywhere.  For me the moral of this story is:  I don't have people in my home to impress but to bless.  If I'm focused on impressing instead of blessing then I'm stressing!  Okay, you get the picture, lol.

I pray you had a day filled with God's blessings.

Yesterday's workout:  LBN Strength Workout

Today's workout:  Kickboxing Mish-mosh.  The Firm Cardio Gloves Workout;  2 sections of 10 Minute Solution Knockout Body; AM Yoga for your Week, Hip Openers.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Busy day here. We did last minute cleaning under the directions of Sergent, er, Reverend McElroy.  Honestly, ladies, it's true:  No one gets the troops moving like a Dad.  We made it fun though~somehow we always do.

I realized I'd forgotten a few things at the store last night~am I the only one who does that?  I ran across town to hit IGA since Kroger and Sam's and Walmart would be nuts. Good call. It was busy but not bad at all.  Plus the people are so nice there.

Well, we've gotten the table set and peeled potatoes and put them on water so we should be good to go tomorrow.  I pray all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am so blessed to have many, many people in my life who touch me in a myriad of ways.  Some I've known FOREVER, some only a short time.  Some family, friends, different faiths, different countries.  That is one great thing about the internet for SURE.

So as I sit here surrounded by my pets and watching the sun set, please know I've prayed a prayer of Thanksgiving for all of you involved in my life.  You have blessed me more than you'll know.

Today's workout:  Early AM walk with Tucker again; 10 Pounds Down Cardio Weight Loss Mix(cardio and stretch); AM Yoga for Your Week, Back Bends.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Hmm, I see I've neglected blogging lately.  Friday was our last day of co-op. I ended up getting stung by a yellow jacket on the finger and at a picnic after the co-op that pretty much blew the rest of my afternoon. Thank goodness Tom took the girls to the movie. And, thank goodness they let him hang out at the McDonald's across the street and work and didn't subject him to Twilight.

Wes had to spend all night Friday cooking BBQ with the scouts and I got him home about 2 that afternoon.  The rest of the day was spent watching some football and basketball.

Sunday we had church but Maddie felt yucky in her tummy and stayed home. We took Wes' friend Josh to the evening service that was held with Second Avenue Baptist and had turkey dinner and then a great service.  Tom did a fabulous job with the devotional sermon, if I do say so myself.

Yesterday I ran some errands to Walmart, etc. and we cleaned a bit. Today I took Tucker on an early walk since the rain is settling in until Thursday, I think.  We ended up taking the whole week off from school.  I didn't want to do that BUT all the county/city kids are out so the children have gotten to spend time hanging out with their neighborhood buddies they don't see much during the school year.  We've also done some reading, taken a trip to Barnes and Noble to look for books, etc.

Workouts.  Let's see.  Friday~LBN Strength Workout; Saturday~Leslie Sansone 5 Really Big Miles (three miles); 1 mile dog walk; Monday~Results Fitness 10 Days to a Better Body~upper body (cardio and weight intervals, 35 minutes); 20 minutes of yoga using AM Yoga for Your Week~Twists; 1 mile dog walk;  Today~Results Fitness 10 Days~lower body (cardio/weight intervals, 35 minutes); 20 minutes of yoga~AM Yoga for Your Week, Forward Bends; 1 mile dog walk.

Off to go grocery shopping for our Thanksgiving food with Tom.  I'm most blessed as I'm making glazed carrots, spiced winter fruit, crescent rolls, rice casserole and mashed potatoes.  My mother in law is making the turkey, dressing, pecan and pumpkin pies, and squash and green beans.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

True confession time here.  The only true work we got done today in a traditional sense was math.  We also watched a part of a documentary on the solar system and did a lot of cleaning as Maddie has a friend or two spending the night tomorrow for her birthday.  I took the kids out for a treat and to run an errand or two and we walked Tucker and then it was time for dinner. Good heavens, the day flew by.

At dinner we spent an hour reading Tyler's Astronomy chapter for co-op. No it wasn't that long, it just spurred a lot of conversation. It was the chapter on the Moon and we discussed rotation, revolution (complete with the kids demonstrating it for Tom) and why we on earth see only one side of the moon. We also did some exercises showing how a lunar eclipse and phases of the moon occur, discussed tides, etc.  It was a lot of fun and some of our best learning occurs around the dinner table!

Tomorrow is our last day of co-op until January 20 and I'm ready for the break, although I will miss seeing the moms.  Then Maddie is going to lunch as Steak and Shake with some gals from co-op and we're taking a couple of them with her to see the new Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part I. Her friend Josie will spend the night after that.  Wes has to work all night tomorrow for a BBQ with his scout troop and says it's good timing~he won't be here with giggly girls!!

Today's workout:  Ellen Barrett Power Fusion (cardio, strength, stretch done via standing pilates and yoga moves). These pilates fusion workouts are always a go-to when I'm tired and don't feel like exercising (like today) but they are deceiving. If I concentrate on contracting the muscles I find I get a nice workout and usually am a bit sore the next day from working so differently.  Maddie and I also took Tucker on a 1 mile walk.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Wes got a great report at the orthodontist and we don't have to go back for 10 weeks. Maddie and I baked cookies for a church dinner and program tonight.  We worked on more copy work from Ezekiel and looked up information on various grains mentioned in Ezekiel 4:9 (yes, that's where the famous bread takes it's name and ingredients from). Wes and I watched the second half of the Kentucky/Kansas game (came on too late last night). Maddie and I walked Tucker in between rain storms.  Wes began cat sitting again.  How is that for a very boring, very quick update on a day at the McElroy home?????

Today's workout:  Firm Cardio Gloves; 10 Minute Solution Belly, Butt and Thighs Thigh Slimmer; 10 Minute Solution Bootcamp, Upper Body.

I thought things would be calmer today.  It's totally amazing to me how quickly things can get busy.

I knew that piano had been rescheduled and that was on our "to do" list. Then the kids told me they needed to drop books off at the library that were due.  Okay, we'll squeeze that in.  Then Maddie did something to her phone that required a visit to the ATT store, a phone call, another visit to ATT store.  I also had to make a return to another store! Then I came home and helped Tom out by working on some of his papers that are due tomorrow. I am also having to do that some more tonight.  I think we'll both be happy when that is done!!

In the midst of all of this, we did get some school work done.  I decided to combine writing, grammar, and Bible Study by reading a couple of verses from Ezekiel to them and having them copy them down. We checked spelling and grammar and discussed them that way. Then, the looked up some various geographical definitions from the verse, killing a geography lesson in there too.  That is one of my favorite ways of homeschooling for sure!!

Tonight I'm planning on kicking back after helping Tom and watching part of the big Kentucky and Kansas basketball game before heading early to bed!

Today's workout:  A fast 1 mile dog walk with Tucker before the rain set in followed by 30 minutes of cardio with Fit Dance Jam (lower impact cardio kickboxing) and 10 MS Yoga for Flexibility.

Monday, November 14, 2011

After a busy weekend visit with my parents we were back at it today.  Wes had to take an Algebra test and Maddie and Tyler had some extra work to get done for co-op.  We also needed to get back into the swing of things after a busy weekend with regular chores and school work.  I encouraged the kids to do some reading of their choice, practice piano, go outside, etc. in between lessons so that made things seem to go by more quickly.

This afternoon I helped Tom a bit with his work for the All Things New conference he took.  I know that he enjoyed being picked by our District Superintendent for the honor of attending the conference but it has been a ton of work. He has pages of self-reflection questions to answer; a personal and professional mission statement to prepare; a personal values summary; a sermon he had to tape and triplicate; and two online personality and leadership profiles to finish. He turns all of that in on Wednesday and then sometime after that we both have to attend an interview process. This is all supposed to help identify people who would be good at planting new churches and determine what type of congregation a person would be suited for serving when they are next moved.  So, if you'll pray for him to finish all of this and write with clarity and passion, I'd appreciate it.  Poor guy also has a Bible Study to lead this week and his regular sermon on Sunday morning plus a sermon to preach at a combined dinner and service next Sunday night with Second Avenue Baptist. It's such a busy time for him.

Today's workout:  Erin O'Brien's Kristi Yamaguchi Power Workout (cardio and weigh intervals).

Friday I did LBN Strength Workout and walked the dog; Saturday was Dance off the Inches Country Line Dance Party and a dog walk.  No walk today because of rain and it's supposed to rain tomorrow and Wednesday too.  I'll just have to get my rain jacket out and walk Tucker or he'll be stir crazy after three days!!

What I'm reading:  The final book in the Iron Fey Series, The Iron Knight.

Thursday, November 10, 2011

So, the funny story is that Tom and I don't go out to eat alone on dates much and when we do it's to somewhere "frugal."  Since our 17th anniversary is Saturday, we decided to go eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Santa Fe Cattle Company, for lunch. They have nice specials and it's much less expensive than dinner time.  Well, guess what?  They've decided to no longer serve lunch, lol.  So we went next door to Firehouse Subs. The subs were wonderful but the fun part was drink machine.  It's truly amazing. There are over 120 choices of drink flavors. For example, they had orange, cherry, vanilla, cherry-vanilla, lime, and raspberry diet coke. The machine is high tech and has a touch screen.  I need to take the kids there and buy them a drink just so they can play. Truly, it is the little things that please me!

Our church has its annual Charge Conference tonight along with two other churches in Rome. Tom is preaching for the service in front of the District Superintendent and the other pastors and is a bit nervous.  So, we talked about Scripture, following Jesus, serving him, the state of the church, etc. during lunch.  I absolutely love it when we take time as a couple to brag on the Lord!!

I ran an errand to get gas and pick up some toiletries for the kids later in the afternoon. The morning was spent on some different type school things(Algebra mostly), laundry, and doing some final cleaning.  And Mom and Dad, if you're reading the doggies got a bath today in preparation for your visit so we're all looking forward to seeing you.

Today's workout:  LBN Metabolic Cardio (cardio intervals).  No dog walk as Maddie bathed Tucker later in the day and I didn't want to walk him in the windy, cooler weather.  Thank goodness Wes walked him this morning.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

It's raining and supposed to be the last day of our nice 70 degree temps for a bit. I think the highs will be in the mid to upper 50s but the lows in the upper 20s and low 30s for a few days. That's pretty cold for this time of the year.

This morning I got Tyler to clean his room and then he and Wes and I did some dusting. After that came some algebra lessons, interspersed with motivating Tyler to do his worksheets when all he wanted to do was write his book!  Some days are just like that, aren't they?  We finished reading our Astronomy lesson for the week at dinner last night so today we watched a bit of a documentary on light (speed of light, etc.) during lunch.

Maddie and Tyler had piano lessons at 2:30 so off we went. We found out that they are being asked to perform for the church members along with some other children one night for Christmas. They're excited and I think their teacher will even have them doing a piano duet together.

Then it was our weekly trip to the bread store and home for a bit before church dinner tonight.  I'm looking forward to Thursdays being ours again since Tyler is done with soccer.

The big news here is that we're staying home and having our own Thanksgiving.  We've only done that once in the 17 years we've been married (17 years as of Saturday) and I'm so excited about having a relaxed, fun day.  Maddie and I are menu planning and I think we'll also go serve a meal at the homeless shelter that day as a family. Tom and I just think that will be a wonderful way to express our gratitude to God for all we have~by being the hands and feet of Christ to others.

Today's workout:  10 Minute Solution Knockout Body with Jessica Smith:  Upper Body and Total Body; Powerfit Plus Total Express (strength workout with a resistance band).  No walk for Tucker and I as it's raining, but Wes did get him out walking earlier.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Another beautiful autumn day here in Georgia. It's in the low 40s at night, and low 70s during the day.  If it could stay like this all winter I'd be a happy girl.

Today we did a lot of writing and cleaning.  I also had to take Wes and Maddie to the bank to deposit checks from babysitting and cat sitting.  Other than that we tried to have a quiet day at home since last night was Scouts and tomorrow is piano and church activities.

Tyler has been working on his book and it's amazing the amount of grammar he knows from no formal grammar course.  His workbooks cover some basic grammar but other than that we've never used a true grammar textbook. He does enjoy reading some fun grammar books (Painless Grammar, etc) and has listened to all the Grammar Rock songs from my era over and over.  But mostly, he just reads a lot and picks up writing and editing skills that way.  The kids have picked up a lot of their spelling the same way.  Yes, one of my favorite things about homeschooling is lots of time to read, write, create, and think.  God has certainly been good to us to let us live this kind of lifestyle.  I'll always be grateful.

Today's workout:  Powerfit Plus Cardio Kick and The Firm Weighted Gloves Cardio Workout; 1 mile walk with Tucker.

Monday, November 7, 2011

The best thing about my walks lately with Tucker are the leaves. So, in honor of the fall leaves that are turning in Georgia, I am using orange today. Plus, it's Tyler's favorite color.

I am so glad the time changed. While I don't like it getting dark by 6pm, I love the sun being up by 7.  I'm not nearly as groggy or tempted to sleep in.

Today we did our regular chores and thought about some menus for the week.  I did the bulk of the weekly shopping this afternoon while the kids finished up their regular school work and watched Once Upon A Time, our favorite new show of the season.  (It's based on fairy tales).

This week we're going to be working on paragraph writing.  I've got some forms to use and fun websites to explore so it won't be so boring.

The best news is that I also got a workout in.  Things are looking up in the McElroy household from a health standpoint.

Today's Workout:  Stephanie Huckabee's Powerfit Harmony Cardio:  Move it; Jessica Smith's Exercise TV Slim Down Fast Metabolism Boost (20 minute circuit training workout); 1 mile dog walk with Tucker.

What I'm reading:  The third book in the Iron Fey Series, The Iron Queen.

Sunday, November 6, 2011

We enjoyed our day yesterday. Tom had a conference in Atlanta most of the day and Wes spent a large part of the day shoveling horse manure for another Scout's Eagle Project, lol.  He came home wanting a SHOWER!  We decided against soccer since Ty was still coughing so his season is over.  We didn't get as much out of it this year. Tyler has gotten much better but scouts got in the way. He wants to play in the spring and not miss any games.

I watched Kentucky actually win a football game and Wes' LSU Tigers won a nail biter last night in a much hyped 1 versus 2 match up.  He hasn't heard from his Big Daddy yet(that's what the kids call Tom's dad) who is a fan of team who lost!!  Nothing better on a fall day than chili and some football, right?

Today after church the youth went to lunch and then distributed food bags for a Thanksgiving food drive.  They ended the day at Steak and Shake for a shake.  Maddie and I went to Petland so she could purchase some things to set up a goldfish tank in her room.

The highlight of my day, of course, was worship.  It felt really, really good to be back among God's people.

I'm looking forward to a new week of school and some exercise tomorrow!

Friday, November 4, 2011

I think Maddie had a fun birthday.  Wes and Tom basically toilet papered the den with blue and pink crepe paper and blew up four large punching bag balloons and made a huge birthday sign.  The room looked really festive!  Maddie decided that school on her birthday was a no-no(since her brothers are out of school on their birthdays in May and June) so I let everyone spend time reading in the morning. After a breakfast of a family birthday tradition, of course:  Monkey Bread!

About 1pm we met my inlaws (including my sister-in-law) at Cracker Barrel for lunch in Cartersville.  We had lunch together and Maddie opened some presents, enjoyed cup cakes, and even got free ice cream and a chocolate brownie.

After that, we came home in the pouring rain and kicked back in the evening. Maddie wanted pizza for dinner, so she got it~oh to be a kid and eat cake, pizza, etc. all day and not be sick.  Then she played a card game with her brothers and watched a bit of a movie of her choice.

Today we had co-op and then I got a chance to walk Tucker for a mile before running some errands for Tom.  I'm looking forward to a warm bath and spending time reading my current book.

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Busy, busy day here.  My daughter Mary Madison turns 14 tomorrow~where does the time go?  So, I had to run an errand to the grocery to order her cookie cake and then to Walmart to get what she wants for breakfast, lol.  I also had to take Penny to the groomer to get her claws clipped, run by the library, go to piano with Maddie and Ty and run by the bread store.  I had time for a quick walk with Tucker and now it's off to church.

I meant to post about my day Sunday.  As we were all a bit puny, we just hung out and watched a movie that afternoon. The funny thing is that Maddie, Tyler, and I played with play dough that Ty got from who knows where (one of those small party sizes) and colored in coloring books and had a great time.  I love it when my kids will indulge in simple pleasures like that with me~plus I just find coloring so therapeutic.

I pray God grants you the serendipity of enjoying some simple things soon!

Just a few pictures of Tucker. The first one lets you know he's photogenic; the second is wearing Wes' Wolfman mask; the last is in his bee costume he wore yesterday.  He and Tom took Maddie and Ty Trick or Treating last night and the neighbors gave him a costume to wear.  It didn't fit well as Gus, their dog, weighs 150 and Tucker is in the mid 40s, lol, but he had a great time.

Wes and I stayed home for the 25ish trick or treaters we had. We're used to about 50 but the previous two years we lived in the house Trick or Treat was on Saturday, maybe that's why.

We're getting some school work done slowly but Wes has a slight head cold too so things have definitely not been "normal."  Since I'm feeling better I'm walking Tucker about a mile every afternoon and hope to add some yoga into my routine soon too. That will be it for me until my cough completely goes away.

What I'm reading:  I can't say enough about this series.  It's a Young Adult Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa.  It's in the Harlequin Teen Young Adult Series and is about a 16 year old girl who finds out she's half human and half faery.  The characters are based on the lore from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Definitely some romance but the majority is great action, adventure, danger, etc.  Much better than the Twilight Series. I've not enjoyed a YA series like this since Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.   Here's a link to the first book in the series. I've been getting mine from the library.

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Friday afternoon Mary Madison and Tyler both started having sore throats.  So, the three of us are home from church today as they both have head colds.  I really miss the body of Christ for sure!

The good news in all of this is that the kids actually just get colds, not sinus infections.  I wonder if it has something to do with the size of the sinus passages????

Anyway, we took it easy yesterday.  Watched some football, read some books, played some games.  I fixed meatloaf for Tom and the kids since they love, love it.  Other than that, it's been pretty quiet in the McElroy household.  Here's hoping that next week will be better!!

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Thank goodness I felt a bit better today as we have co-op tomorrow.  The kids got their work done for the week, including Astronomy, math, etc.  We also watched a show this afternoon on mummies~interesting, huh?  Hey, I needed to rest a bit and this seemed like a good way to do it!

We also went to the library.  Now I'm getting ready to go to bed so I'll be ready to face a busy day at co-op tomorrow.

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

I've not been posting because I got a sore throat on Saturday night that turned into a nasty head cold/sinus type stuff.  I'm not exercising and trying to take care of myself.  The kids have been a big help with the cooking, cleaning, etc.  All three went to the dentist today and didn't have any cavities so that was good news.

Saturday, October 22, 2011

I realized I left everyone hanging.  After an afternoon that was frustrating and more funny than you can imagine, we found out that it was only our car battery that needed replacing. Since it was a 5 year battery that died after 3 years, the pro-rated cost of a new one was only $35.  We are so grateful for that!

We had co-op yesterday and Tyler got the opportunity to go back to Tennessee for the weekend with his best buddy Garrison. I know he  is having the time of his life there!

Maddie is babysitting and I've got to run to the library and the post office.  Tonight I am going out to dinner with Maddie while Tom and Wes do some guy things together.

Praying that you all have day filled with blessings from the Father!

Yesterday's workout:  10 Minute Solution Ultimate Bootcamp with Jessica Smith:  Total Body, Upper Body, Lower Body; 10 Minute Solution Yoga, Relaxation and Flexibility.  In the evening I walked Tucker for about a mile.

Today's workout:  10 Pounds Down Weightloss Cardio Mix:  Cardio, Abs, Stretch.  This afternoon I'll walk Tucker and do 10 minutes of yoga.

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Is there honestly ever a "good time" for your car to die?  Well, this morning I went out early to run an errand and my car was fine.  When I went to start it, it was acting like the battery was dying.  I called Tom to help me jump it and it STILL wouldn't start.  So, we left the car after talking to the people in the store (Burger King, lol~I'd gone there to get a cup of coffee and pray before my day started, thank goodness).  We spent the day describing the problem to our mechanic and various other people and got some ideas to try.

Tom, Wes and I went back this afternoon. Still no luck. But, we're blessed by some wonderful people there. The manager was knowledgeable about cars and helped us go through a myriad of checking fuses, cables, etc. The workers there felt sorry for us all and gave us free drinks. And, they even offered to have our car towed for free by AAA that one of the managers had. Or make that USED to have!

So, we got the battery out and Tom and Wes are taking it to Walmart to be tested. Is it the starter? battery? alternator? or does the thing need to be re-programmed(a security light eventually came on)?  Stay tuned to hear further updates.

Meantime,  Ty has a friend here until 6pm and then has soccer and we have co-op in the morning and Tom has tennis in the morning with his league. I sure am grateful for my two cars that God has provided because it makes things crazy when you only have one.

Oh and yes~my children were great and did schoolwork and chores while Mom was gone MUCH longer than intended.

Today's workout:  I walked the dog with Wes and then did Firm Cardio Gloves Workout(20 minutes of cardio) and 20 minutes of yoga (AM Yoga for your Week, Forward Bends).

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Wednesday is a busy "let's run around" kind of day for us.  Maddie and Tyler have piano and it used to be that Tom and I alternated the trips out to the lessons (they're about 20 minutes away).  He is now leading a small group on Wednesday afternoons so I'm the new weekly taxi driver!  On the way home from piano, we make a weekly run to the Flower's Thrift Bread store.  And, we also have church dinner at 6pm.  That is actually a good thing because I don't have to worry about fixing dinner on these days!

Today we did our regular math, etc. in the morning and then studied a bit about asteroids.  We also talked about pumpkins again, lol. The kids are fascinated about how they're grown and how some of them are so gigantic when the usual size is only a few pounds.

We've also had the major change in the weather as predicted.  After being 85 degrees yesterday, it hit 55 today and has steadily dropped to 45 with a lot of wind.   Yikes, even the cats want to come in and sleep in the basement!

Today's workout:  Tracie Long Defined Lines (low weight/high rep cardio and weight intervals, using a medicine ball for the cardio).  Lots of fun.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Monday is such a crazy day for us a lot of the time. We're trying to catch up on housework we let slide over the weekend.  We are getting back into the school groove.  Lots of times I do some grocery shopping in the afternoon. And, both boys have Scouts.

All that happened yesterday.  And, Maddie had to babysit in the evening. That's actually not a had to but a "gets to" for her.  She loves Allie and Caroline and Jack so much.  And when they are in bed she is getting paid to read, have a soda Ms. Karin always leaves for her, and watch TV!!

Today we spent time on Astronomy and some experiments Ty was doing.  We also have a friend who has started giving us her Smithsonian Magazine after they read it and the kids were reading the current issue and writing summaries from it.  I only know that Wes wrote about the pumpkin that broke the world's record for size, I need to read all the papers now.

I've got a Women's Meeting at the church and Tom is in charge of dinner for the kids.  Lucky him, I planned enough leftovers so they don't have to work too hard.

Oh, and the best serendipity of my day? Tom and I went to Subway and split a $5 foot long for a date.  The last of the big spenders, huh?  But it was nice just to be alone and chat!

Monday's Workout:  Jessica Smith 10 Pounds Down Total Body Tune Up (cardio and high rep/low weight sculpting intervals).

Today's workout:  Amy Dixon Cardio Kickboxing Exercise TV workout (20 minutes); Amy Dixon Women's Health Perfect Body Cardio workout (20 minutes); WH Yoga Stretch (10 minutes).  After having ATT Uverse TV for nearly a year, I've discovered we get free Exercise TV workouts on Demand so took advantage of that to try the Cardio Kickboxing.   Very fun.

Saturday, October 15, 2011

What a nice day!  Tyler had a great time at his Weeblo activity. He got to shoot a BB gun, do some archery, spear throwing, etc.  I think Tom had a great time too but was ready for a nap when they got home at 4:30.

Wes got off to his camping/hiking trip.  I'm assuming he's fine since he texted me tonight to see if the LSU Tigers, his favorite football team, won their game.

Maddie and I went shopping at the mall. Not my favorite activity, but she loves it. We got some cute 3/4 and long sleeve shirts for her for the fall and winter.

Tonight I've been watching baseball, doing some laundry, and playing around with the layout of my blog, as you can tell.  I love Saturdays when the pace slows down.  I also love Saturday evenings as I get to anticipate worshiping the Father with other Christians on Sunday.  I pray your Sunday will be full of God's richest blessings.

Oh, and on another note:  Please pray for my cousin's son, Lance.  He will be 17 in December and is a quarterback for his football team.  Last night his leg was broken in the game and he is having surgery tomorrow morning.  He is facing a 6 week rehab but the surgeons have said they don't anticipate permanent damage, for which we are praising the Lord!

Today's workout:  Karen Voight Ultimate Step Circuit, cardio only premix; Shape Pink Power Flat Abs 5 Ways, Fat Blasting Cardio (you do intervals of cardio and abdominal work); 10 Minute Solution Yoga For Beginners, Flexibility Segment.

What I'm reading:  Adam Hamilton Why?  Making Sense of God's Will.  Tom is leading a group through a small group study based on this so I'm reading along with him. (http://www.amazon.com/Why-Making-Sense-Gods-Will/dp/1426714785/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318726235&sr=8-1)

Friday, October 14, 2011

Gorgeous fall day here. It was cool in the morning and then was about 78 in the afternoon and sunny~beautiful. The kids got to go to co-op and hang out with other kids, play volleyball outside, etc. I got to hang out with other homeschool moms, always so good for me.

When we got home we did some work here and then the kids spent a lot of time outside.  I ran errands to get things Wes and Ty needed for their scout events and then came home for pizza night! (Actually I ate something else because the kids scarf that stuff down, lol. They did save me one tiny piece though).  And, to top off the night I did a yoga/pilates fusion workout to go with my 30 minute strength workout that I got in before co-op.

Oh, and one of the best serndipities:  Wes got up early, with no prompting, did his chores, took a shower, etc. and then ran out with me to McDonald's before we left for co-op.  He ate some hash browns, I drank a cup of coffee, and we just talked. It was really nice.

Today's workout:  LBN Strength Workout (30 minutes, nice cardio effect too); afternoon dog walk; Ellen Barrett Power Fusion pilates/yoga blend (45 minutes).

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Today was another rainy day.  It was strange though. We had these periods of beautiful sunshine alternated with heavy downpours.  It kind of drove the dogs crazy, lol.

We spent time finishing up Tyler's Astronomy assignment for tomorrow's co-op. We also did made sure that all the work for the week was completed.

In the afternoon we made a trip to the library to get some new books to read.  Wes has been playing a new game he purchased for his Xbox, Ty played with some neighborhood friends who had a half day of school, and Maddie has been working on reading some books she picked up at the library. Tyler's also been working on his book and Maddie decided to write a report on a particular event from the Revolutionary War. It's fun to see what types of things they choose to do with free time.

Tomorrow is co-op and then we'll spend time getting ready for Wes' hiking/camping trip and Ty's day trip with his scout troop, both on Saturday.

Today's Workout:  Jessica Smith 10 Pounds Down Weightloss Cardio Mix.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

My energy is better today and I didn't have to take a single Tylenol or ibuprofen.  I'm so, so grateful for that.  It's been overcast and cool (about 68) but no rain at all.

Today Maddie and Ty had piano so Tom said he'd give me a break and take them, yippee.  We did our work, practiced piano, read books (Maddie and Ty got a new book they're devouring in their spare time), and worked on some projects hanging over our heads (Wes' writing work, etc).

When Tom took Maddie and Ty to piano, I ran Wes to the bank to get some money and he did some planning for a scout trip he's going on this Saturday.  I also ran an errand at Kmart, wishing for the millionth time I had longer lashes and didn't need to purchase mascara!

When I got home I took Penny on a slow walk and Tucker on a longer, quicker one.  Right now I'm getting ready to read for a bit before church dinner tonight.  It's been one of those gray days but for some reason God's love has just been slipping over me today like a warm blanket.  I'm grateful for that little gift today and pray you're finding him at work in your life.  He's so good, isn't he?

Today's workout:  10 Minute Solution Belly, Butt and Thigh Blasters; 10 MS Yoga, Flexibility and Relaxation segment to stretch out my legs!
