Happy Tuesday.  We had a nice, quiet weekend with the usual running around, church, etc.  Monday we got back into our groove with some school work, reading, etc.  Today the kids and dogs have had spring fever. It's supposed to rain the next couple of days so we got our work done as quickly as possible and then stayed outdoors a lot to enjoy the sunshine and 69 degree weather.

That's it for now. I've been running around fixing dinner, cleaning up, etc. (Wes and Tom left for a basketball game so I pitched in to help Wes with the dishes since it's his night).  Now I'm looking forward to some well-deserved down time.

Saturday's workout:  Ellen Barrett Burn and Firm Pilates (mostly standing pilates work with light weights); 1 mile dog walk

Monday's workout:  10 Minute Solution Ultimate Boot Camp, Lower Body; Ellen Barrett Self Bikini Ready Fast (awful name but great weight and pilates abs workout); 1 mile dog walk

Today's workout:  10 Minute Solution Belly, Butt and Thigh Blasters, Lower Body Makeover (lower body cardio with a band); Mel Be Totally Fit:  Warmup, Cardio, and Yoga Stretch.

Today was homeschool co-op day.  I tend to get up early and do about 30 minutes of exercise so I can go have coffee and study while the kids get ready for c-op and then I come home and we do final prep and leave.  Well, lo and behold, Wes was up and showered and ready to leave by 7:20.  He's so not a morning person and finally admitted he wanted to go with me~he was sure he'd get something good out of it, lol.  He did.  I went to Panera Bread with him for coffee and had a free espresso drink on my rewards card that he used for a hot chocolate.  It was nice to have him with me.

At co-op things always go by so quickly but I'm just glad to hang out with the other moms and have the kids see friends and learn something.  My favorite class right now is the teen book club as we have great snacks while discussing The Hobbit.  Today one of the snacks was homemade bread~the wheat had even been freshly ground.  Yummmmmm.....

This afternoon I took advantage of the sunshine to walk Tucker and then came home to fix the Friday night special:  pizza and salad.  We had Canadian Bacon pizza, Bacon Cheeseburger pizza, and Pepperoni and Sausage pizza.

It's not supposed to rain AT ALL this weekend so I'm looking forward to the mid 50 temps, walking the dog, and catching up on some things I've put off (going through some things to discard,etc.).  I pray your weekend is filled with blessings.

Today's workout:  The Firm Wave, Rock Solid Cardio; 1 mile dog walk

Rainy day here but we've had fun in the McElroy house.  Here's a quick "list" of some things that have gone on today.

1.  Wes and I took Penny to the groomer to get her claws clipped.  Yes, she kvetched a lot and yes, it's the best $5 I've ever spent not to deal with the old gal, lol.

2.  Wes spent the day doing some writing and a lot of grammar, plus Astronomy.  Maddie worked on Life Science and pre-Algebra and Ty on grammar and math.

3.  It was big chore day so the kids did their dusting and bathroom cleaning.

4.  I ran an errand to pick up the dogs flea meds (since it's been 50-65 this January they definitely need it) and get some groceries at Walmart.

5. Maddie and Tyler walked Tucker in between rain showers.

6.  All three kids got a remote controlled motorcycle out and spent half an hour TORMENTING Tucker with it, lol. He ran around chasing it and barking at it~hilarious.

7.  Maddie, Wes, and I spent a lot of time doing laundry. Great rainy day project, right?

That's all the excitement you can probably stand to read about, LOL.  But all those little things add up to a life lived in the Presence of God that is more meaningful than all of the "big" events.

Oh, and I wanted to share a bit of my philosophy of education here.  I wrote it quickly into an email to another homeschooling mom and decided to save it.

Totally agree with you that it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the world's goals are correct and their method of education is correct.  I actually disagree with both.  I want my children to know God and to make him known to others.  I want them to be able to communicate well, so they can share that love.  I want them to understand history and see how it's HIS story.  I want them to be able to understand the whys of mathematics and pursue them to the point they need to so they can fulfill whatever ministry or career God places in their hearts.  I want them to see how the world works because knowledge of scientific principles reveals the Creator and they can use that with others as well. All these goals have to drive our education of our children but it's hard because it's so counter-cultural.

It's so easy to fall into the trap of letting everyone else DO our parenting.  Schools say to memorize, do things way to early, be "tolerant", etc.  That's why friendships like ours are so important~to remind us to follow the one who saved us, gave his life for us, and knows what makes our children tick. After all, He made them and is crazy about them!!

My philosophy doesn't have to be yours~it shouldn't be.  But I encourage you to think about what's important to you and take the steps to make the life and education of your child YOURS.  And above all, enjoy the process.  That's where the memories are made.

Today's workout:  Erin O'Brien's Kristi Yamaguchi Power Workout.

Tom wanted to visit some shut ins so he took Maddie and Tyler to piano.  It was lovely having the day off!  Wes and I went to McDonald's and had some tea/soda together and then I walked Tucker. It was sunny and 67, unbelievably nice.

Other than that, we spent most of the day doing some good sweeping as Tucker and Penny seem to be shedding more~must be the warm January weather, lol~and then did mostly Science work today.

Today's workout:  Lower impact cardio day.  Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Camp and Fast Cheetah workouts.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

During our first co-op last Friday, Tyler had his Astronomy class. They made Martian rovers out of graham crackers, cake icing, cookies, and candy. Here was Tyler ready to eat his.  I was glad I didn't have to supervise those kids hyped on sugar the rest of the day!  My next two classes were with Wes and Maddie's group. They are taking a cool art class and a book club where they read and discuss The Hobbit, complete with snacks appropriate to the chapters.

The weekend was nice but then Monday and today were busy.  Yesterday Tom and I had an hour and a half meeting in conjunction with the All Things New course he took in the fall~the one he did all the work for.  I was nervous for sure!  We left for Atlanta in the pouring rain/storms and the kids and I did Bible Study on the way down and read from various Astronomy mags and History mags and discussed things. (Thanks a TON for the History magazines, Dad, they came in handy!).  It was a sneaky and fun way to get school in.  After a nice lunch (roast beef and veggies, yum) at my inlaws home Tom and I took off. The kids spent the afternoon playing cards with Big Daddy (what they call my FIL) and Tom and I were grilled with tough questions.  But the Lord was there and it was actually fun.  One of the pastors interviewing us told Tom he had a strong advocate in me and I'm praising the Lord for helping me to get that across to them.

We got on I-75 after a quick stop at our denominational bookstore only to find out that a oil tanker had overturned on the road and blocked several lanes.  We made a detour and came home a round about way via I-20 and Villa Rica.  I'm amazed that Atlantans can deal with that traffic all the time.  We flew in and Tom went to a meeting at church while I got Wes to Scouts and stopped by Sam's Club.  I was one happy woman when I got home last night!!

Wes had an ortho appointment today at 10 am so I was looking forward to getting up and getting going but was pondering how to get a workout in since I skipped yesterday.  Well, I woke up at 5:20 and couldn't get back to sleep so got up at 6 and exercised.  By now I'm a very tired puppy so staying up to see the Kentucky-Georgia basketball game isn't looking good.

The kids spent the day on science, grammar and writing.  One of the kids took Wes' last Bingle (a red velvet type Twinkie that he loves) and no one confessed so he wrote an Ode to My Missing Bingle and it was HYSTERICAL.

Oh and it also looks like Wes might be getting his braces off in April~stay tuned for details.

Friday's workout:  Denise Austin Quick Burn Cardio Cardio and Weights; Dog Walk

Saturday's workout:  Ellen Barrett Fat Burning Pilates; Dog Walk

Sunday~Rest Day(dog walk around the block)

Monday~Another Rest Day

Today~Keeping Fit Strength; Dog Walk

What I'm reading;  The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne(you can get TONS of classics free for the Kindle); A.W. Tozer's The Pursuit of God (wanna be challenged to take your faith to another level?  Read Tozer~it's free for the Kindle an will cause you to examine your inner life!)

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Mommy time, Mommy time!  Tonight I get some Mommy time.  It's the smallest things that make me happy.  Tonight Tom, Wes, and Tyler have passes to go see the Shorter Hawks Men's Basketball team play.  They are super excited.  Shorter is ranked number 1 in the NAIA polls and are undefeated. They're playing the team ranked number 4. And we're blessed to have a church member who works in the Athletic Department.

I am not going because Maddie is babysitting for her favorite two girls and boy down the street and I always stick close by in case of a problem. Well, she's babysitting for the Shorter Coach and his wife, lol. They are fabulous, wonderful Christian people and we're blessed to know them.  Maddie just hopes all the success he's had with the Shorter program doesn't mean some bigger school snags him and takes her babysitting gig with sweet children away!!

Today we spent time on Astronomy, particularly Mars.  Ty's studying it for his Astronomy co-op class tomorrow and the older two always sit in. They add a lot to the discussion (particularly Wes, who is into Astronomy big time) and they learn from it as well.  We finished up the school work we wanted to get done this week and did our big day of cleaning (bathrooms, mopping, dusting, etc).  It feels good to be facing the weekend with all of that done.

I also have dinner in the crock pot~two crock pots, lol. Where would I be without them?  Thank you Lord for the simple things in life~like my crock pot that freed me up to walk for a mile with Tucker.

Today's workout:  HIIT/Interval day.  I did two 20 minute Firm Express workouts.  I also indulged in 5 minutes of yoga, concentrating on the neck and shoulders.  And, of course, the walk with the Tucker Man. ;)

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Wednesday, Wednesday. Busy day as usual. I also had a UMW dinner last night so didn't get a chance to write then.

This week Wes is trying a different routine. He spent the day Tuesday on Astronomy research, reading and writing. Today he spent the day doing the same with Biology and Spelling/Grammar. Tomorrow he's going to work all day on Algebra.  I like that the kids can decide on things like that.  If you get on a roll why do you have to stop after a pre-set time and go to a new subject?  Anyway, he said it made the day go by quickly and was a nice change of pace.

Maddie, my girl I thought would never memorize her multiplication tables, is LOVING pre-Algebra this year.  Who knew all I had to do was throw in a few "x" and "y" variables to make math fun, lol?

And Tyler has not had much interest in math either.  I've avoided using Saxon math with him because of all the repetition and drill. The other two HATED it. Well, we found a book at a Thrift store and since I don't have other kids who would use the text behind him I just let him do the problems right in the hardback text.  Lo and behold, he LOVES it.

Which is one of the reasons I homeschool:  flexibility to use what works with each child.  And the joy of seeing their faces when the "get" it.

Yesterday's workout:  The Firm Time Crunch Cardio, 2 sections (40 minutes):  Fat Burning Blasts (4 Limb cardio with higher impact bursts throughout); and a Cardio Dance Segment; 5 minutes of yoga; quick 5 minute walk with Tucker in between rain showers.

Today's workout: Firm Hard Core Fusion (60 minute weight and cardio intervals); longer walk with Tucker.

Monday, January 16, 2012

Yesterday went by in a blur.  Sunday School, Church, helping the kids get off to an event in Atlanta with Tom. After everyone left, I finished the book I was reading and then it was time for bed.  Yes, I did spend several hours reading a book on my new Kindle Fire.  A tweenager book, lol~and it was great.

Today there were two extra teens in my house until nearly 4.  They spent the night with Wes and Maddie respectively last night due to getting in late from the concert event. It's so nice when your children have great friends.  I barely knew anyone else was here, lol. They all got along well and played games together and hung out alone some too.  It was good for my kids to have that time with them.

As for Tyler he spent most of the day outside playing with his neighborhood buddies Louie, Andre and Anna. I'm just glad the weather cooperated and was in the upper 50s. Tomorrow should hit the mid 60s but, alas, more rain.

Tomorrow it's back to the regular school routine.  We're all actually looking forward to it~at least I am! ;)

Today's workout:  Brooke Burke Tone and Tighten (total body workout with cardio effect).

What I just finished reading:  Princess Callie and the Totally Amazing Talking Tiara.  (http://www.amazon.com/Princess-Callie-Totally-Amazing-Talking/dp/1461006384/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326764512&sr=1-3)  I know it sounds crazy but it was really entertaining.  Along with the dragons, wars, and danger you find in fantasy books (similar to C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia), the book discusses themes of loss of parent and feeling unloved and unwanted with various characters.  Plus, the main character's best friend is a guy.  Fun read for sure.  So much so that I downloaded the second book in the series, Princess Callie and the Fantastic Fire Breathing Dragon.(http://www.amazon.com/Princess-Fantastic-Fire-Breathing-Chronicles-ebook/dp/B005UTK3AS/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326764512&sr=1-1) So far there are only two books in the series.

For Sunday School we're reading another of Timothy Keller's books. This one is Counterfeit Gods:  The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power and the Only Hope that Matters(http://www.amazon.com/Counterfeit-Gods-Empty-Promises-Matters/dp/0525951369/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1326764190&sr=8-4)  Keller's books are not for the faint of heart who want a "feel-good" book. They challenge our commitment to Christ at the deepest levels. I don't agree with him in every aspect (different denominational theologies) but I appreciate his passion and desire to tell people "the truth that sets them free."

A group of online homeschool friends and I are embarking on a Bible study/Christian book study together through a closed Facebook group.  We're studying Being More than a Good Bible Study Girl(http://www.amazon.com/Becoming-More-Than-Bible-Study/dp/0310293251/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326764412&sr=1-3).  This study discusses how we can move beyond head knowledge and let God's truth penetrate our cores and change how we live.  Should be a great time together.

I also meant to say I love my new Kindle Fire. I've ennoyed reading with all the cool features. Now if I can get better at typing on a small touch screen!
Those who know me well know I don't like shopping.  If I could, I'd sit in my house and order everything online~even my groceries. I wouldn't mind picking them up, just don't want to have to go fight crowds, etc.~especially on a Saturday.

So Maddie and Tyler know I love them because I gave up a coveted Saturday nap to take Ty to Walmart and Barnes and Noble and Maddie to the mall.  On a Saturday. Actually, it turned out better than expected.  I found a pair of black dress pants to wear to church to replace my older ones (as in 5 years old) and got them at a great price.  The mall and Walmart weren't that crowded. And, I found a fabulous new perfume at Rue 21 where Maddie went shopping that I'm going to ask Tom to get me for Valetine's Day. It's a nice, light spring/summer scent that I can still smell faintly so it lasts nicely and won't bowl you over. And it cost $9.99.  I usually am drawn to the most expensive things out there so this is a true bargain!

The rest of the day was spent overseeing Saturday a.m. chores, picking up Wes  (he spent the night with a friend), taking care of pets, prepping dinner (where would I be without my two crock-pots), and exercising.  I did manage to watch part of the Kentucky Wildcat football game I DVR-d and am glad I didn't see it live, yikes~a nail-biter of a win.  Now I'm getting ready to watch Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Tomorrow the kids are going to a Winter Jam concert in Atlanta with Tom and the youth in the church. So tomorrow evening will be all mine.  I'm looking forward to the alone time for sure.

Something I started doing this week is summarizing daily what I'm learning in my Bible Study. Then on Saturday I come up with a summary of the week and then share it verbally with someone. I find it gets cemented into my mind and my heart and I'm more likely to find it changing my behavior.  So, I challenge you to find someone to "brag on the Lord" to.  It will help both of you and  you'll also develop "kingdom eyes" that see the Lord everywhere you look.

Today's workout:  Barefoot workout day!  Ellen Barrett's SloRobics (athletic/standing pilates cardio and pilates mat work).

Friday, January 13, 2012

Not sure what kept me from blogging lately.  We had our usual busy Wednesday with piano, trips to the bread store, church.  Yesterday we had a good day playing with my new Kindle Fire that arrived (both a late Christmas and early birthday present for mom).  We have spent time doing our regular routines of school work.  What we have neglected is cleaning. The floors and bathrooms need a good dose of good old fashioned muscle put to them and that's the plan for the day.

Wednesday:  Brooke Burke Strengthen and Condition

Thursday:  Firm Express Cardio Interval workouts:  2 of them, 40 minutes total

Today:  Firm Time Crunch Cardio:  Cardio and Sculpting Intervals; 10 Minute Solution Best Belly Blasters, Bikini Belly(core focused cardio). Because OF COURSE at 46 years old I'm looking to rock a bikini (please, please detect the heavy sarcasm here, lol). Actually it's just a good standing ab routine that raises your heartrate.  I sometimes wonder where in the WORLD people come up with names for workouts~but I digress. :p

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

So the game was a bust.  Our Tigers were out-played and out-coached.  They had their worst game of the year at the wrong time. The good news is that it was so bad Wes and I couldn't even get upset and yell~we just shook our heads. And enjoyed our snacks. And started dreaming about next year, lol.

Today Tyler and Maddie wrote poetry based on the first lines of Carl Sandburg's "Fog".  Maddie's was comical and Tyler's was very, very good. He has a wonderful grasp of language and is very good at writing poetry.

We spend the rest of the day on science and some projects we've been putting off. Maddie and I ran an errand and enjoyed a snack just to have some girl time together.  Other than that~rain.  Rain. And more rain!!!!

Today's workout:  Today was my longer, moderate cardio day.  I did Andrea Metcalf's Keeping Fit Cardio~mostly lower impact and about 55 minutes.  I also did 5 minutes of yoga.

Monday, January 9, 2012

Took a few days off blogging~no real reason why, I just did.  We had a nice weekend although it rained quite a bit.  Saturday Tom was gone most of the day for meetings so I made a pot of chili and we hung out reading, etc. I did manage to walk Tucker in between showers and then Tom did too.

Yesterday we watched the Falcons get beat and Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos win after church. Man, Tebow somehow keeps pulling out miracles.  I'm not big on watching professional football (especially with no Peyton Manning this year, my favorite) but do like the playoffs.  It poured most of the day and Wes had a friend over so it was a good day for a nap, which I indulged in.

Today we hit the school work again. It was sunny most of the morning and afternoon before the showers are coming back today through Thursday. Sigh.  Oh well, we must need rain!!  So I walked Tucker right before lunch.  Wes is reading a book on Orville and Wilbur Wright to do a longer report on and we went over the first Biology lesson he did in his new book.  He studied Astronomy most of the first semester and now is on to Biology.  Maddie studied General Science last semester and now is studying Earth Science so we started that.  The best news is I found both text books (from a Christian viewpoint while solidly scientific and thorough) and the companion workbook/lab books at our new Goodwill and paid less than $5 for both sets.  WooHoo, I love a good bargain.

Tyler and I did some Story of the World for his history and he worked in his new Saxon Math book.  I've had it for a while (again, a thrift store find) but we simply didn't push math "quite" as hard last semester, using a workbook and working on memorization of times tables.  This is push semester for math for him.

So, I tried to give you an idea of how we study things.  Some things we get interested in and go with.  Sometimes we need a push and use www.everythinghomeschooling.com to help.  Other things we do steadily or change up mid-year~or even mid-week, lol.  It's the process of learning that matters WAY more to me than the materials for sure.

Tonight is the big National Championship Football game against LSU and Alabama.  Since Wes is an LSU fan I've become one too and we're rooting hard, although surrounded by Crimson since we live only 20 miles from the Alabama border and a couple of hours from the University of Alabama itself. Wes wanted pizza and some snacks so we've got the frozen pizza ready to go, lol, and some cheddar cheese Chex mix (Wes can't eat most salty snack foods due to his braces).  Wes is in his LSU shirt mom and dad gave him for Christmas and says I can wear his LSU jersey I found for him this fall (again, at a thrift store, detect a theme, lol).  I'll try to take a few pictures to post tomorrow.  We're hoping for a big win and an undefeated season so I'll just end the post for today with GEAUX TIGERS (and note my choice of purple ink, for the purple and gold Tigers).

Friday's workout:  10 Minute Solution Belly, Butt and Thigh Blasters, Ab Flab Fighter; Firm Tight Buns and Killer Legs; 5 minutes of yoga; walked Tucker for a mile.

Saturday~for a while I'm declaring Saturdays "Barefoot Workout Days" and taking the intensity down a wee bit on those days.  My body is asking me to do that.  So, I walked Tucker for a mile and did Molly Fox's Skinny Jeans Deep Flow Yoga.

Today's workout:  Firm Express Sculpt I workout (sculpting with 4 cycles of "bursts".)  The Firm Express workouts are only 20 minutes each and are built around cycles of 8 seconds of high intensity/12 seconds of recovery, repeated 4 times.  You do 4 sets of these.  It's supposed to burn fat quicker so you have to work out for a shorter amount of time.  It's definitely a nice change of pace.  I also did Jackie Warner's Xtreme Abs, Standing Portion. This is about 15 minutes of standing ab work using light weights~again, a nice change from crunches lying on your back.  I also did 5 minutes of yoga~hip openers and shoulder and neck stretches.  And, of course, the walk with the beastie boy, aka Tucker. :D

Thursday, January 5, 2012

I love it when I don't have plans for a day. We got up, got our school work and Bible study done, and things just felt slower paced.  We had time to talk, to laugh, to read, and to learn.  It was one of those truly blessed days.

Wes and I have been doing a lot of intense Algebra lately so tomorrow we're taking a day off and working on writing a 5 point essay.  It will be nice to re-focus on something more "creative" again, although it will be within the confines of the 5 point process.  Tyler is going to work on a 5 point paragraph and Maddie wants to spend a little extra time on her Science studies.

We also did some studying today of the Japanese Samurai culture which was fun.  The best part was all of us trying to figure out how to pronounce the names of the Japanese warriors, shoguns, and emperors. :D

Today's workout:  Amy Dixon Give Me 10 More Fat Blasting Cardio and Karen Voight Burn and Firm Cardio.  Sounds impressive to do two workouts but the total time was only about 33 minutes.  I also did 5 minutes of yoga with KV.  I got to walk Tucker for a mile for the first time in almost two weeks. The temperature was near 60 and the sun was shining~it was just lovely.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Happy Hump Day!  I had a dental appointment early this morning (yay, no cavities!).  I left Tyler with the task of getting Maddie and Wes up.  I came home at 10:40 and Tyler had eaten and done his assigned written work and gotten sidetracked with organizing Legos.  So, Maddie and Wes got to sleep in late today~I think they were secretly glad.

Well, since they slept in late they made up for it by working hard on Algebra and Science lessons, helping clean up the kitchen and walking Tucker.  Maddie and Tyler also spent time practicing piano since we had lessons today for the first time in two weeks.

After piano and a trip to the bread store, we got home in time to read and relax for about an hour before church dinner. It was nice to get back and see everyone I'd not seen since Christmas day.

Tomorrow I'm going to take the kids to the library and have a meeting regarding chores. (HINT:  It's time to redo them to keep things fresh and encourage them to do them with a minimum of complaints).

Today's workout:  A quick one!  I did Exercise TV's Slim Down Fast Short Cardio and Metabolism Boost (cardio and weights) for 25 minutes this morning before leaving for my dental appointment.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Well, we had a great first day back at school. We enjoyed doing some Bible Study together; worked on our math; did a creative writing project about winter; and then played some games in the afternoon.  All in all, a great day back.  Plus, the kids took all the ornaments off the tree and packed the tree away for me. What wonderful kids, huh?

We also got our dogs back from my MIL's today.  I'm SUCH a huge animal lover and it's AMAZING how much I missed those two beasts.  It just didn't seem like home without them.

I have committed to praying this prayer each morning in January. It's a tough one to pray but settles my spirit down with the reminder of what is truly important in life. It's a prayer by John Wesley.  I quote it here with the prayer that it blesses your life by focusing on who, when allowed to be in charge of our lives, holds us in his hand. He created us. He's wild about us. He's FOR us.

I am no longer my own but Yours.
Put me to what You will.
Put me to doing. Put me to suffering,
Let me be employed for Your, or laid aside for You,
Exulted for You, or brought low for You.
Let me be full, let me be empty,
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal.
And now glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
You are mine and I am Yours. So be it.
And this covenant now made on earth,
Let it be satisfied in Heaven.
Amen

Today's workout:  The Firm Dangerous Curves Ahead Cardio Express; 5 minutes of yoga, back bends.

Monday, January 2, 2012

Happy 2012.  We had a great post-Christmas visit to see my parents and my brother in Kentucky. We spent about 4 days and 5 nights there and even made a 2 hour trip (one way) to see some of my cousins on my Dad's side in Ashland.  The only problem I have is that our visits with my family are much too short and leave me feeling a bit nostalgic for a few days when I get home. :(

We've watched some bowl games today (so sad that Georgia lost in overtime) and are planning to ease back into school tomorrow with some fun activities, capped off with an afternoon spent taking down the Christmas tree and decorations.

I pray that your Christmas was full of blessings and that you are anticipating a year filled with Christ.

Today's workout:  Karen Voight Slim Toning on a Ball; Yin Yang Fusion, Total Body Segment(body weight exercises with a kickboxing vibe).
