Today's fun included Broad Street. For those not from Rome, it's our "downtown" area and the kids had a great time. We only hit a consignment store for teens and a used bookstore but that was enough. The bookstore is a particular favorite because they have their very own store cat. He is very friendly, of course, and rolls over to let the kids pet his tummy and plays with them. In fact, if you don't play long enough, he will follow you and bat at your leg!

The kids finished up a bit of work and we had a nice lunch.  Now they're playing with some friends while I finish up dinner. I really, really have enjoyed our school year and wanted to give some "awards" to my students!

Mary Madison~most improved Math student.  She's gone from "I'm so bad at this" at the beginning of the year to "I am getting better and beginning to enjoy this."  She also gets an award for managing her own time much better this year.

Tyler~most outstanding "unschooler".  Okay, so we don't unschool, but Tyler loves to learn, has a passion for it, and has pursued many interests this year and knows tons of stuff that I have no idea where it came from.  Also voted "Most likely to have something live growing in his room."  Okay, so he doesn't like to clean his room, at least it's a science experiment in the making, he says.  Mom says, "ummmmm.....no."

Wes~most focused student award.  Wes has really begun to take responsibility for his education and time.  He uses his time well, pursues passions, and has become increasingly good at working on computers.  He would like to build his own computer and we hope this happens at some point. He's also my most improved speller this year.

Today's workout: Slim in 6 Keep it Up (20 minutes legs, standing abs, cardio); Leslie Sansone Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs, 2 mile Walk (and for those curious, they're still with me!!)
